Diversity of trees

Diversity of trees

There are no secular trees or other old trees in the Esplanade wetland, but the diversity of tree species is significant. The maples and lindens growing here are very important nectar plants – maples give nectar in spring, lindens – in summer. Different tree species allow different lichens, mosses to grow on them, and different insects and birds to live and feed on them. The older the tree, the greater is its value to nature. And the urban landscape is also more interesting if it has trees of different shapes and shades. Have you noticed that when all the yellow autumn leaves have already fallen, the last brightness for autumn is given by larch?
