Very common species. It inhabits a variety of habitats, including anthropogenic ones. Foxes can be found even in large cities, where they adapt to disturbances and are no longer afraid of human presence. The main food source is mouse-like rodents, but it also catches birds, amphibians, reptiles, fish and large insects. Fox likes to visit dumps, eat carrion and even attack pets, including small dogs and cats. Foxes are one of the main transmitters of rabies.
