We, Daugavpils State City Municipality, as the Controller (address: Krišjāņa Valdemāra iela 1, Daugavpils, LV-5401, Latvia, contact person: Olga Tolmačova, e-mail: olga.tolmacova@daugavpils.lv, phone: +371 65404225, communication with data protection officer: dati@daugavpils.lv) inform about the processing of personal data, which we perform using our website https://urbanwetland.eu/ (hereinafter – the Website).

By visiting this website, you acknowledge that you have been informed of the processing of your personal data in accordance with the processing purposes set out in this Privacy notice and the relevant legal bases. We may change this Privacy notice at any time without prior notice. The current Privacy notice takes effect upon publication. We advise you to review this page periodically.

How do we use your information

The website acts as an online repository for environmental research materials. When you visit the website, you can view the materials as a visitor, add materials as a researcher, review the added materials as an expert. We will collect information about each of these groups differently for the following purposes:

1. visitors – your information on our website is not collected. However, if you use the third-party online services available on the website: play Youtube clips, use Like button, or share a link to the website material on any of the social networks: uzskaitījums, the servers of those services may process your data in accordance with their Privacy policy;

2. researchers – in addition to viewing the website, you may submit your research materials, by adding your personal data – name, e-mail, telephone number, which we will process (collect, store, compile, review, delete) with the purpose (1) to follow the public researchers` activity within the project, to check and compile the submitted environmental materials, and contact you if necessary. We must process this personal data for project accountability, the legal basis for processing – legal obligation and/or the official authority of the Controller. Data will not be publicly available, and will only be processed by website administrators and experts.
If you, as a researcher, want your name at the publication of your submitted material to be visible to all visitors, please mark the consent checkbox □ with a tick or a cross in the submission form. This information will then be publicly available to all website visitors. We will process this data with the purpose (2) to inform website visitors about the author of the material (name only) on the basis of your consent, which you can then withdraw by contacting the Controller’s contact person.
We remind you that researchers themselves must remove the metadata contained in the submitted materials (photo, video, audio), which may contain various technical information. Metadata may also contain your personal data in certain circumstances or in combination with other data, e.g. GPS coordinates, time, location, etc. The website system, administration and experts do not process this data.

3. experts – in addition to the abovementioned roles, you can log in to the website system to process the submitted materials of the researchers. In order to ensure your access to the website system, we will process your personal data – name, surname, telephone number, e-mail, with the purpose (3) to identify and authorize you in the system, as well as to audit your activities and contact you if necessary. Expert data will not be publicly available, data will only be processed by the website administration and/or other experts, the legal basis for processing – legal obligation and/or the official authority of the Controller.

We will store the data in the website system for 5 years after the project implementation (after the last payment), after this term the data will be securely deleted. If we, as the Controller, wish to use your personal data for other purposes, we will inform you and will act in accordance with the new purposes on the appropriate legal basis, unless we are required by law to act otherwise.

Information on administration

The administration (maintenance, updating) of the website is performed by the Processor, who within the framework of the mutual agreement has undertaken to observe and ensure the operation of the website in accordance with the requirements of EU and Latvian legislation in the field of personal data processing and IT securi

How do we share your information

We will not share your personal data with third parties or international organizations except as described in this Privacy notice. Your personal data will not be profiled, nor will automated decisions be made.

Your rights

Depending on the legislation in force, you may have the right to access, rectify or delete your personal data, receive copies of your personal data, restrict or object to the processing of your data assets, ask us to share (send) your personal information to another subject, withdraw any consent you have provided to process your data, the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority in accordance with the law and other rights that may be relevant under applicable legislation.

Please note that if you do not allow us to collect or process personal data necessary for the operation of the website or withdraw your consent to the processing for the purpose for which it was requested, you may not be able to access or use the services for which your information was requested.

Cookies

We use two types of cookies on our website – necessary (functional) and statistical. When you visit the website, your browser saves them. The necessary cookies are mandatory and cannot be disabled, as they provide the basic functions of the website: selection of the website language, checking the availability of cookie functionality and maintenance of cookie consent status (functional/statistical), user authentication and editor panel settings. These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information.

We also use third-party cookies (statistical) stored in your browser by the integrated service provider’s Google (Youtube) services – maps, videos. These cookies help us analyse and understand how you use this website, store user website settings and provide relevant content. Statistical cookies are stored in your browser only with your consent. You can opt out of these cookies, but this may affect your browsing opportunities. For example, if you disable Google Maps cookies, the map will not be displayed accurately; if you disable Youtube cookies, videos adapted to the information theme will not be shown. The use of third-party cookies is governed by the Privacy policy of the service, which can be found at Google. 

Security

The security of your information is important to us, and we will use reasonable security measures to prevent the loss, misuse, or unauthorized modification of your information in our website system. However, due to the risks inherent in the IT environment, we cannot guarantee complete security and therefore we cannot guarantee or ensure security of any information you send to us, and in doing so you are aware of the risk.

Third-party links and use of your information

Our website may contain links to other websites that we do not maintain. This Privacy notice does not apply to the activities of third parties, including third parties, who use any website or service that may be accessed through a link on our website. We strongly advise to review the Privacy policies of any websites you visit. We do not control or take responsibility for the content or Privacy policy of third-party websites or services.
